Strange News presents California Guignol at Studio@550
California dreams turn to nightmares in new adaptations of Oscar Wilde’s Salome (set in 70’s New Hollywood) and Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein (set in present day Silicon Valley).
In the first act, an eccentric director’s attempt to film an acid-fueled version of Salome at his secluded mansion go awry when he runs afoul of his Manson-esque guru and the band of hippies squatting on his terrace.
In the second act, Victor Frankenstein is re-imagined as a biotech billionaire whose experiments in necromancy wreak bloody havoc on Silicon Valley.
Strange News closes our first season by bringing the gruesome style of Grand Guignol to Central Square’s intimate Studio@550.
Starring Natanjah Driscoll, Doug Dulaney, Evan Eckstrom, Chelsea Evered, Kate Jurdi, and Dharmik Patel, adapted and directed by Davis Alianiello, with music by Nathan Beattie and fight choreography/stage violence by Matt Dray.
Tickets $15
