Sasha Melina Krumholz Lynn was first exposed to African-Caribbean dance at age four when living in St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands., taking Haitian-African classes with a retired Alvin Ailey dancer. As an adult, she minored in dance at Boston University. After working in EMS and practicing paramedic for almost 7 years, she went on to instruct private and group classes in jazz, ballet, modern in Masachusetts and the New England area, and recently Latin dance as part of a workshop for Maasai children in the Enkijape School in Chyulu Hills of Kenya, Africa. Performance experiences include dancing with the companies Chien-Hwe Carol Hong’s company 1000 Virtues, Derrick Davis Dance Co, Adrienne Hawkins’s Impulse Dance Company, McKersin Previlus’s Present-Day Dance Theatre, Tony Williams’ Urban Nutcracker, and Heather Bryce Dance Company in NYC, Boston, and Brattleboro, Vt. In 2014, she was invited by international Father of the House, “Derrick/Icon Labeija” to join N.Y.C.’s Vogue dance and modeling International House of Labeija, and is now incorporating vogue dance into her modeling and dance forms. Within the last year she has begun teaching intensive ballet, contemporary and jazz classes to pre-professional children and teens at Mass Ballet in Framingham with the RAD ballet syllabus. In 2016 she joined Ronnie Thomas’s company Mystique Illusions based out of Boston. This is her first season with Bosoma Dance. She is thrilled to be teaching at Studio 550 and sharing her love of jazz fusion and world dance with whoever will come out and sweat joyfully with her!
