Yoga with Lonnie is from 8am-9am on Tuesdays starting February 6.
This hour long yoga class is for all levels and is flow-based (Vinyasa). Options will be provided to simplify sequences or advance them. It will be led with atmospheric music and guided transitions. Postures will warm, open, and strengthen the full body through alignment based cuing. Breath, simply put, is our life force and will always play an important role throughout each class. We will begin with a slow flow and build to a peak posture; each class will end in a restorative pose, leaving you refreshed to face your day.Continue reading →

JULY 3 – July 14 SESSION ONE
Studio at 550 is starting a summer arts program for kids ages 7-14. For a series of 4-8 weeks kids will engage daily in many different art forms: dance, fine art, music, theatre, technology, etc. It’s not meant to provide rigorous training, but rather a way for kids to get tastes of each art form while having a fun way to spend their summer days. The camp would run from 9am – 3pm (with extended hours through 5pm). There will be planned weekly excursions as well.

Movers, shakers, actors, dancers and everyone else, join us to put your body in motion, meet new people, and join our community. And above all else, come play!
All you need to participate is an open mind–you do not have to be a technically trained dancer to have an awesome experience.
Movement SLAMs consist of a physical theatre warm-up, a short-form and long-form improv, dancing, acting, playing around and moving.Continue reading →
A blindfolded contact improv jam with music in the morning
550 Massachusetts Ave, 3rd Floor Cambridge, MA
Suggested Donation $10-$20, more if you’d like to give more to Planned Parenthood!
Taking away the use of our eyes can invite new deeper
awareness in listening to ourselves and our fellow dancers.
Take this winter moment to embrace the darkness.
Increase your presence, care and sensitivity and let your dance
flow from there. We will be sure to create a safe space,
so that we can all feel free and supported.
We are excited to offer our second Blindfold Contact Jam of this flavor- a “Giving Jam”, where we can collectively enjoy moving with somatic intelligence AND collectively give to a cause that feels like it could use our support right now. As a whole our dance will join in with the movements on women’s rights, which are at the moment so frenetic with national women’s marche on the 20th.
Bring your own blindfold. We’ll have extras too.
Most of the proceeds (beyond our basic expenses) will go to Planned Parenthood. There is a lot to respect about this important organization. https://www.plannedparenthood.org
“Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness.
It took me years to understand that this too, was a gift.”
